When they first introduced Harley and Montoya into the comics, they were as they were created for the animated series. But when the series ended, DC decide to re-vamp and re-write the characters. Look at Montoya- in the current comics, she's not only gay, she's The Question. She's no longer one of the best cops in the GCPD. And look at Harley. It might be a natural thing for her and the Joker to break up, but now she's part of the Susicde Squad and she's looks like a 20- something bag lady on a bad day. DC didn't know to leave well enough alone.
I think there was an attempt at a cartoon- very stylized like the last season of Batman was. It didn't last very long from what I heard, But yes, I liked the comic book. I liked the pairinf of Catwoman, Harley and Poison Ivy. Unfortunately ,like Birds of Prey, it was one of the first to go when DC started planning this "New 52" business. They started shutting down books at least a year before they made they made the biggest mistake of their professional careers.
